for ABC, CBS, FOX, & NBC On Top of the Advertised Price in Some Areas
Are you ready to pay more than $300 a year just to watch local broadcast TV stations like ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC? On April 1, 2024, Comcast released a new rate card and Cord Cutters News received a copy of the San Francisco card that shows local TV stations like ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC now cost $26.70 a month.
Over the course of a year, local TV stations and RSNs will cost Comcast Xfinity TV customers in these areas $320.40 a year.
The fees don’t stop there. You will also pay an $18.75 regional sports fee. If you want the NFL RedZone, that will cost $9.99 a month. HD Technology fees cost $9.95 a month for the ability to watch the channel in HD. Want a DVR? That will be an additional $10 a month. Premium DVR costs $20 a month, and an extra 150 hours of storage will be $10 a month.
These fees can quickly add up to more than $85 a month if you want NFL RedZone, DVR with 150 hours of storage, and HD channels along with the cost to watch your locals.
Comcast’s popular TV package with HD programing, sports, kids, family, and 20 hours of DVR costs $60 a month. If you just add your locals, that cost is $105.45 a month. If you add the other fees, the cost increases even more.
Don’t worry: the fees don’t stop there. If you want extra cable boxes because you own more than one TV that will be an extra $10 a month on top of the $105.45.
These fees will vary by market, but this is a good idea what you will pay for Comcast depending on where you live.
When you put that all together you can see why in 2023 a growing number of Americans ditched cable TV companies like Comcast and started to stream online.
